It’s me! Just popping in to say hi and here’s some things, and then I gotta get back to writing other stuff this week.
I made vegan cheese with cashews! Wait where are you going - come back. Um. Okay, it was really gross. Like, could I use this for tile grout gross. I am not giving up. I like vegan cheese when done right. I can’t do it right. Yet. Send recipes.
Who knew Sam Neill is the proprietor of vineyards in New Zealand (actually, looks like way more than just vineyards going on there). Until I can try some Two Paddocks wine, the website has a fun eclectic collection of Top 10 Tunes chosen by a whole slew of staff, actors, random cool people. Sam! SAAAAM do you want my top 10 tunes? Does anyone.
Arizona Gives Day was Tuesday, April 6 but you can still donate! I was on Substack sabbatical doing my poetry class so I did not get to post about this, but I donated and I really encourage you to please join me in donating to the Native American Advancement Foundation, doing such good work on the Tohono O’odham Nation. For one thing, they’re building a skate park out in GuVo district and it’s gonna rawk!
Lastly but not leastly I am also nutso (nuts heh see earlier cashew cheese anecdote) about musician and ornithologist Jonathan Meiburg, his band Shearwater, and his new book about striated caracaras, A Most Remarkable Creature. The header photo for this post you’re reading is by Rod Long on Unsplash - it’s the Falklands, where these marvelous birds live. And…Here is my favorite of Shearwater’s songs for you la la la enjoy.
Carrie This!
